Seán McCarthy is a graduate of the University College Cork Food Science and Technology faculty and co-founded Innovative Food Solutions in January 1998. He graduated with an honours degree in Food Business from University College Cork in 1996. He also holds a post graduate diploma in Management Practice (Consumer Foods). Prior to founding Innovative Food Solutions, Seán worked with Rye Valley Foods in Co.Monaghan, Ireland. Here he was involved in supervising the production of ready meals for the retail market as well as the implementation and maintenance of food safety and quality systems. Seán has implemented Assured Safe Catering / Food Safety & Quality Management programmes in over 160 food service & processing businesses throughout Ireland since 1998. In 1996 Sean received first prize in the Forbairt Student Enterprise Awards and first prize in West Cork Food Enterprise Awards. In 1999 he was a winner of the South Cork Enterprise Board Business Award.
